The Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching conducted by the government was able to survey graduated students at various Universities in Australia, with the results proving a fantastic resource for prospective students to get an idea of the employability outcomes after graduating.
According to the survey results, of the students at Murdoch with a completed undergraduate qualification, 63.4% were able to find a full-time job within the four months after graduating. This is less than the national average for undergraduates in Australia, which is 69.5%. For those with a postgraduate qualification, the percentage is higher, with 76.8% of graduated students of Murdoch able to find full-time employment. This is still lower than the 83.5% national average.
Graduate salary is also a great way of assessing how ready graduates at Murdoch University are to work professionally. The survey results found that undergraduates had a median salary of $60,000 per year which is $4,000 more than the average. Postgraduates can expect higher, with the survey indicating the median salary is $80,000 for past Murdoch University students which is equal to the national average.

The Murdoch Institute of Technology (MIT)
The Murdoch institute of Technology (MIT) is located on the Murdoch University Perth campus. MIT provides a number of alternative entry programs for students, mainly in the form of English Language courses, the Murdoch University Preparation Course (MUPC) and Diploma level qualifications. These fast-track course options can allow students to gain direct entry in the second year of a degree once they graduate from MIT. The English Language courses are also a fantastic opportunity for international students to gain the skills needed to do well in their studies at University.
Pre- Law Path
The Pre- Law Alternative Entry Course has been running as a night course since 2006 and has provided many students the opportunity to enter the prestigious law courses at Murdoch. The course was created through the university’s recognition that those who have the intellectual capacity to both take art in law and succeed in a career, may still lack the prerequisites to enter these undergraduate qualifications. Students who complete the course will be offered direct entry into the Murdoch LLB program the following semester. The Pre- Law course has been a success for the university, with many students going on to developing a career in the profession who may not have been able to otherwise.
K-Track Aboriginal Enabling Education Program
Murdoch provides many different support and study services for Indigenous students through their Kulbardi Aboriginal Centre. One of these programs is the K-Track program, which is for Indigenous students who may not have received an ATAR or completed their secondary school studies. The K-Track program is a free 14-week course which can provide entry to several Murdoch courses upon completion. The program helps students develop the skills needed to excel at their studies at University and set them up for a successful career in the future.

The Murdoch Aboriginal Centre is a fantastic resource for Indigenous students, offering tailored support options, study help and specialised programs to allow students to make the most of their time at university and excel in their studies

The Murdoch Careers Centre comprises of a number of resources to help you prepare for securing a job when you graduate as well as help you build networking skills and connections while at Uni. Murdoch University has plenty of opportunities for students to take part in overseas travel and study, which is an excellent way to learn more about other cultures, societies and develop a more global perspective which is crucial to the changing business environment. As far as Universities of Western Australia go, Murdoch University has a great presence in the state, with three campuses in and around the Perth region, including the Murdoch Perth campus, Rockingham campus and the Mandurah campus, just 45 minutes out of Perth. Murdoch has also established itself as a Global University, going on to expand with two international campuses in Singapore as well as the recent Murdoch university Dubai campus
Perth Campus (South Street)
The Murdoch University Perth campus, which is also known as their South Street campus, is one of the largest in Australia, spanning over 277 hectares of the suburb of Murdoch, a bustling outer suburb of Perth. The Perth campus is situated in lush native bushlands, making it one of the best locations out of the Perth Universities campuses. The Murdoch Perth campus also has a great range of recreational and education facilities and services, with plenty on offer for students to engage, learn and socialise during their time at University
The Animal Hospital
The Animal Hospital is a fantastic addition to the Murdoch University Veterinary School, providing a huge range of services and care to all types of pets. The Animal Hospital has 85 Vets with many years shared experience, as well as access to the highest quality equipment and technologies. The Vet clinic also specialises in anaesthesia, imaging and pathology, with a 24/7 emergency area always open. The Animal Hospital also takes part in specialty training during the year in emergency and critical care as well as small animal medicine.
Nursing Clinic
Nursing students at Murdoch University have access to a huge range of specialist facilities, including clinical simulation suites and highly- technical mannequins that can simulate medical emergencies. The use of these real-world hospital simulations are key to preparing students for work placements in the future, and better yet, these facilities are available for nursing students from week one.
Murdoch University Library
The Murdoch University Library, which is called the Geoffrey Bolton Library at the Perth campus, is the centre for learning, teaching and research at Murdoch University. The library includes a 24/7 learning common perfect for the many late-night study sessions in the lead up to exams. The Murdoch Library also has over 200 computers available for use as well as having plenty of help for researching, referencing and studying.
Bayer Pilot Plant
Students at the Murdoch University Perth campus have the ability to access a huge range of state-of-the-art facilities, such as the Bayer Pilot Plant, which features real-world engineering equipment and technologies, an opportunity that not many students around the world have the ability to experience.
Instrumentation and Control Engineering Lab
This facility is used for those in the courses that are involved with control engineering. Students can access a real-world model station and control laboratory to test experiments using real technologies, equipment and data systems to operate controls and dynamics.
Systems Test and The Renewable Energy Engineering Lab
This lab is specifically important to renewable energy students, with the Renewable Energy Systems Lab forming a part of the Murdoch University Research Institute for Sustainable Energy (RISE). Some of the world-class technologies available include wind/diesel/battery and hybrid systems, solar thermal systems, a solar simulator, water pumping system and various grid connected systems.
The Power Engineering Lab
The Power Engineering Lab provide students with several workstations which feature a range of state-of-the-art technologies and equipment to help them excel with their studies and develop experience that is essential for the real-world engineering environment. The features of this Murdoch lab include the electrical and power electronics modules, including AC/DC power supplies, transformers and plenty of other electronic power equipment often used by final year engineering students.
Surface Analysis Research Laboratory
The Murdoch university Surface Analysis Research Laboratory provides access to state-of-the-art technology and equipment used in the areas of Spectrometry and Spectroscopy. These include an X-Ray Photoelectron Spectrometer and an Atomic Force Microscope (AFM).
Chiropractic Clinic
The Murdoch University Chiropractic Clinic, established in 2005, is a great addition to the Murdoch Perth campus, providing chiropractic students the chance to immerse themselves in a real-world setting and take the driver’s seat in assessing and treating patients. The Murdoch University Clinic includes specialist treatment rooms, a Rehabilitation Gym, Digital Radiographic suite and a Physiological Therapeutics Facility. The Murdoch Chiropractic Clinic is open to the public, with final year students having the chance to run consultations and learn under a supervisor.
Media Arts Centre
The Media Arts Centre at the Murdoch University Perth campus provides an excellence range of highly professional equipment and technology to students, staff and external organisations. Radio Studios
Murdoch university has a fantastic range of media and communication courses, so the Radio studios that are available to these students is extremely beneficial in exposing them to the equipment used in real-world studios. Live-to-air broadcasts and training simulations are common uses of the studio who use the range of pre-recordings, voice-overs and audio editing to enhance the experience.
TV Studios
The two state-of-the-art studios at Murdoch University are filled to the brim with sophisticated equipment including a green screen, autocue, lighting and professional broadcasting cameras. It also includes a control room with a wall of monitors and control of input and output as well as titling, transitions, camera switching and special effects.
Murdoch University Accommodation
Murdoch university Accommodation is in abundance, especially at the Perth campus. The on-campus living at the Murdoch University Village houses over 800 students, or there’s always the option of accommodation near to Murdoch University. Better yet, the University strives to provide a safe, inclusive residential experience, with plenty of programs and social events held throughout the year to help you acclimatise to residential living and make lifelong friendships.

Murdoch university Village is located right in the heart of the Murdoch Perth campus, with all campus amenities like the Murdoch library and classrooms right on your doorstep. Rockingham Campus
The Murdoch University Rockingham campus, while being one of the smaller Murdoch campuses, provides a place for students to improve and develop the skills necessary to enter University life. It has a strong focus on several University pathway programs available to different students to help them make the transition into Higher Education. These programs include:
OnTrack and OnTrack Sprint
The Murdoch University programs OnTrack and OnTrack Sprint are fee-free preparation courses created for students to allow them to access University courses they otherwise may not be eligible for. OnTrack is a free 14-week course which provides an alternative pathway to university for students who are not eligible for direct entry.
OnTrack Sprint is a 4-week program for students who have recently completed a WACE (WA Certificate of Education), have an ATAR between 60-69.95 or who have a Certificate IV qualification. This intensive program is similar to the OnTrack course, however studied at a faster rate to prepare students for university workloads, study and academic skills needed. There’s also a ‘FlexiTrack’ online program available too, so no matter what skills you need or what commitments you already have, you always have an option to access quality education.
TLC110 Learning for Tomorrow
TLC 110 is another free-program for students who are looking to study at Murdoch University. The TLC110 is designed for students who are unlikely to obtain an ATAR score but who are ambitious to learn at Murdoch University in a study area. The TLC110 program will teach students in areas of critical thinking, research skills, referencing, locating evidence and academic writing; all of which are necessary skills for excelling at the university level.

The Murdoch University health faculty forms a significant part of the Murdoch Mandurah campus and is renowned for its quality teaching and world-class technologies and equipment available to students. Social Life
From Club Murdoch, the development of the Student Hub on the Murdoch South Street campus in Perth, through to the array of fun clubs available across virtually all the campuses; there’s something for everyone to make the most of their social life on campus
The Student Hub
The Student Hub at Murdoch University is still on progress, with plans to have it completed by August 2018. The Student Hub will form the heart of social life on the Murdoch Perth campus, a flexible, entertaining and engaging space for all. It will be the place for students to meet, grab food, socialise and study throughout the year.
The plans are to create a number of new areas, including a garden, ‘The Ref’, which is a food hub that will allow several food and retailers to operate, with a large open seating area in the middle, a café and student kitchen. There will also be an area called ‘The Base’, a multi-purpose building with plenty of rooms and open spaces which can be used for various events and activities throughout the year.
Club Murdoch
Murdoch University’s very own restaurant, Club Murdoch, is already in operation, however, as part of the Student Hib development, this Club Murdoch is set to be restored. The restaurant includes a formal dining area, booth seating, a private function area and a al fresco dining. The restaurant is focused on providing fresh food, great coffee and a fantastic social setting, with it being a popular spot for students on campus.

Murdoch Guild
The Murdoch University Guild is a student-run advocacy and support organisation which has been operating at Murdoch University since 1976. The Murdoch Guild represents students across campuses and is responsible for shaping the social environment at Murdoch University too. These services include a second-hand Murdoch University bookshop, the Student Assist Office which can support students with everything from legal assistance, tenancy services and tutoring.
It also runs programs and events throughout the year, including the highly-anticipated Guild Ball and Multicultural Day. Murdoch Guild also manages a range of outlets across campus, including the ‘Tavern’, a hangout area for students which features a pool table, kitchen, pinball machines and a stage which is one of the social spots on the Murdoch Perth campus. If you’re interested in volunteering positions, the Murdoch University Volunteering program is run through Murdoch Guild, allowing you to have access to a variety of opportunities to help the community and meet other students.

The Zone Fitness Centre is run by Murdoch Sports, and provides membership options for anyone, no matter your level of fitness. The services include health and fitness appraisals by the professional staff, a weight training area, a Cardio Theatre, group fitness classes including Pilates, Body Pump, Yoga and Spin. There’s plenty of membership options available, as well as casual passes.
